Predicting atmospheric cadmium and lead using honeybees as atmospheric heavy metals pollution indicators. Results of a monitoring survey in Northern Italy

چکیده

This study assessed the ability of honeybees as environmental indicators for atmospheric Lead and Cadmium concentrations through regression analyses. For this purpose, sampling was performed from June to November 2017, in three apiaries Milano, two Lodi Magenta. Heavy metals were detected on bees atomic absorption related respective mean levels, measured by municipal monitoring units during 30 d before collection. The highest values bees, 0.028–0.385 µg g−1, Magenta, a suburban-rural site. showed values, 0.244–0.741 Orti di Via Padova, an urban ex-industrial area retrained horticulture, characterised planted rich biodiversity. Cd Pb significantly (p < .001) affected heavy metal concentration, nearest station .05) beehive site type .05). linear models each site, that better predicted biodiverse sites than poor vegetal biodiversity, probably necessity larger foraging area. highlighted relationship between bee quality hive confirming quantifying “alternative tools” devices pollution level. local-regional aspect study, further studies at scale are needed.

The Assessment of Atmospheric Pollution of Heavy Metals with the Help of Ornamental Plants in Isfahan Landscape

Plants are the most common bioindicatorsused in air quality biomonitoring studies because they are immobile and they have more sensitive to the most prevalent air pollutants than humans and animals. To identify the concentrations and sources of heavy metals in ornamental plants of Isfahan landscape, samples of leaves and soil around Pinuseldarica and Nerium oleander were collected at different ...

Monitoring atmospheric metal pollution: a review of the use of mosses as indicators.

This article reviews the literature on the use of mosses for monitoring atmospheric metal pollution. It discusses the nature of mosses, the mechanisms for moss uptake of metals from the air and wet precipitation, the various forms in which mosses are used for this purpose, and cases in which mosses have been used for monitoring local hot spots of pollution, and regional patterns of metal pollut...

Atmospheric lead concentration distribution in Northern Taiwan.

Atmospheric lead concentrations were measured randomly, approximately once per week, at five traffic sites in northern Taiwan from September 1994 to May 1995. Three types of theoretical distributions, lognormal, Weibull and gamma were selected to fit the frequency distribution of the measured lead concentration. Four goodness-of-fit criteria were used to judge which theoretical distribution is ...
